1. Agreement and operator

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a legally binding agreement between you and the individual developer identified as the provider or seller of Bible Seal on its Apple App Store product page, established in Latvia (“Bible Seal,” the “Operator,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms govern the Bible Seal iOS application, Bible Chat, our website at biblesealapp.com, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By downloading or using Bible Seal, clicking “Continue” or a similar acceptance control, sending a Bible Chat message, purchasing a subscription, or otherwise accessing the Service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If an App Store screen, purchase confirmation, or feature-specific notice provides additional terms, those terms also apply to that transaction or feature. If they conflict with these Terms, the more specific terms control for that subject, subject to applicable law.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using it, you represent that you are at least 16, have legal capacity to agree to these Terms, and are not prohibited from using the Service under applicable law.

If you use the Service for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization. Bible Seal is designed for personal and household use and is not offered as an enterprise compliance or employee-monitoring product.

3. The Service

Bible Seal is a Christian habit-building application intended to help users read and remember Scripture before using selected distracting apps. Depending on the version, device, subscription, and availability, features may include:

  • Apple Screen Time-based app and category restrictions;
  • Bible readings, reading plans, progress, streaks, notes, highlights, and saved verses;
  • Scripture memorization exercises and widgets;
  • Bible Chat and passage explanations generated with artificial intelligence;
  • reminders, scheduling, personalization, themes, and related tools.

The Service is a tool to support your choices. It does not promise that you will read a particular amount, reduce screen time, form a habit, memorize Scripture, improve your faith, or achieve any other outcome.

4. Accounts

Bible Seal may automatically create a pseudonymous account so that we can verify subscription access, enforce usage limits, and provide online features. You may not receive or choose a traditional username and password. Access can depend on your device, app installation, Apple purchase history, and identifiers assigned by our service providers.

You are responsible for access to your device and for activity performed through your installation or account. You must not sell, rent, transfer, or share paid access in a way that violates Apple’s rules or these Terms.

You may request account deletion through Bible Seal’s Account & Privacy settings. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription, and content stored only on your device may remain until you delete it or remove the app and its data.

5. Subscriptions, trials, billing, and refunds

Paid access

Some or all functionality may require an auto-renewable subscription. The exact product, billing period, price, currency, included features, introductory offer, and trial eligibility—if any—are shown in the App Store purchase flow before you confirm. That purchase screen controls your specific offer. Offers may vary by country, eligibility, timing, or product test, and an offer shown to another user does not entitle you to the same offer.

Renewal and cancellation

Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Unless you cancel, an auto-renewable subscription renews for the period and at the price shown by Apple, subject to Apple’s rules and any required notice of price changes. You can manage or cancel through your device’s subscription settings or Apple’s subscription management page. Cancel before renewal if you do not want the next charge. Removing Bible Seal, not using it, or deleting your Bible Seal account does not cancel the subscription.

Trials and promotions

A trial or promotional price may be limited to eligible users and may convert automatically to a paid subscription unless cancelled before it ends. We do not promise that a trial or promotion will always be offered. Apple determines eligibility and handles the transaction.

Refunds

Apple processes payments and refund requests. Except where applicable law requires otherwise, we cannot issue an App Store refund directly. You may request one through Apple’s Report a Problem service. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Feature and price changes

We may change subscription offerings or the features associated with future subscription periods. Apple will handle notices or consent for price increases when required. If a material change affects your current paid period, we will act as required by applicable law.

6. App blocking and Apple Screen Time

Do not rely on Bible Seal as a safety-critical lock, parental-control guarantee, medical treatment, addiction treatment, workplace control, or compliance system.

Blocking features depend on Apple frameworks, device permissions, operating-system behavior, selected schedules, subscription status, extensions, and settings outside our control. Restrictions can be delayed, bypassed, disabled, reset, or fail to activate or deactivate. Apple may change or limit these frameworks at any time.

You are responsible for choosing appropriate apps and schedules, retaining access to emergency, health, authentication, travel, work, financial, and communication tools, and checking that your device behaves as expected. An emergency-unblock option is a convenience and is not guaranteed to be available in every circumstance. We are not responsible for harm arising from an app being accessible, blocked, or not unlocked when expected, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

7. Bible Chat and generated content

Bible Chat uses third-party artificial-intelligence systems. It is automated and is not a person, pastor, theologian, counselor, doctor, lawyer, crisis responder, or representative of God or any church or denomination.

Generated answers can be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, fabricated, internally inconsistent, doctrinally disputed, or based on an incorrect quotation or interpretation. You must use judgment and verify important statements against the Bible, reliable sources, and qualified people you trust. Do not treat generated content as divine guidance or as a substitute for pastoral, theological, medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or other professional advice.

Bible Chat is not an emergency service. If you or another person may be in danger, at risk of self-harm, or experiencing an emergency, contact local emergency services or a qualified crisis service immediately.

Your Bible Chat message, recent chat context, and attached Scripture context are sent to third-party service providers to generate a response, as explained in the Privacy Policy. Do not submit passwords, payment details, government identifiers, exact addresses, health records, confidential information, or information about another person that you do not have the right to share. Bible Chat is not a privileged or confidential professional channel.

We may limit, filter, refuse, or remove access to Bible Chat to protect users and the Service, enforce usage limits, respond to provider restrictions, or prevent misuse. We do not guarantee that a particular model or provider will be available.

8. Your content

“User Content” means information you enter or create through the Service, including chat messages, notes, highlights, support messages, onboarding answers, and feedback. You retain any rights you hold in your User Content.

You give us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, transmit, format, and process User Content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, and improve the Service, comply with law, and perform the activities described in the Privacy Policy. This license ends when the relevant content is deleted from systems under our control, except for lawful retention, backups, de-identified information, or content already processed as part of a completed request.

You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to provide your User Content and that its processing as described in these Terms will not violate another person’s rights or any law. You are responsible for what you submit.

If you provide product ideas or feedback, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation, provided we do not publicly identify you without permission.

9. Acceptable use

You must not, and must not help another person to:

  • use the Service illegally, fraudulently, abusively, or to harm, threaten, harass, exploit, or defame anyone;
  • submit content that infringes intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other rights;
  • submit highly sensitive information about another person without a lawful basis and appropriate permission;
  • probe, attack, overload, disrupt, or circumvent the Service, its security, paywall, usage limits, rate limits, or access controls;
  • use bots, scraping, bulk extraction, or automated access except with our written permission;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, discover source code or prompts, or create derivative works except to the extent applicable law expressly permits;
  • copy, resell, sublicense, republish, or commercially exploit the Service, Bible data, artwork, generated collections, or other materials without permission;
  • introduce malware or use the Service to develop or facilitate unlawful or harmful activity;
  • misrepresent generated content as verified pastoral, professional, or divine authority; or
  • use the Service in violation of Apple’s or an applicable third party’s terms.

10. License and intellectual property

Subject to these Terms, your active subscription where required, and Apple’s usage rules, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to use the Service for non-commercial purposes on devices you own or control.

Bible Seal’s software, code, design, visual interfaces, mascots, artwork, branding, databases, reading-plan structure, text, and other materials are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. No rights are granted except those expressly stated.

Bible translations and other third-party materials remain the property of their respective rights holders and may be subject to separate notices or license restrictions shown in the app. You may use them only as permitted by the Service, the applicable rights holder, and law.

Apps from the App Store are licensed, not sold. The Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement governs your license to the iOS app and is incorporated by reference. These Terms govern Bible Seal’s Service and supplement, rather than replace, that Standard EULA. If there is a conflict about the app license, the Standard EULA controls.

11. Apple and third-party services

The Service depends on Apple and other providers for distribution, payments, Screen Time controls, hosting, authentication, analytics, support, subscription management, and artificial-intelligence processing. Their services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for Bible Seal, Bible Chat, maintenance, support, or claims concerning the Service, except for obligations Apple has under its own agreements or applicable law. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing claims concerning Bible Seal. You must comply with applicable Apple Media Services terms and other third-party agreements when using the Service.

Links or integrations do not mean we endorse every statement, practice, or service of a third party. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control, subject to non-waivable law.

12. Changes and availability

We may maintain, update, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features; change models, service providers, limits, supported translations, or device requirements; or take the Service offline. We may do this to improve the product, comply with law or platform rules, protect security, control costs, or respond to third-party availability.

We do not promise uninterrupted operation, a particular feature set, permanent compatibility, or any service-level commitment. We will provide notice or remedies for material changes when applicable law requires it.

We may revise these Terms prospectively. The “Last updated” date identifies the current version. For material changes, we will take reasonable steps to provide notice through the Service or website. Continued use after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance where law permits. If you do not accept a material change, stop using the Service and cancel before the next renewal.

13. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. You can delete your Bible Seal account through the app and separately cancel your Apple subscription.

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created risk or harm, used the Service fraudulently, failed to maintain required paid access, or if suspension is needed for security, legal, platform, or operational reasons. Where appropriate and legally required, we will give notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue.

On termination, your license ends and online features may stop working. Provisions that by their nature should survive—including ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, liability limits, dispute terms, and rights concerning prior processing—will survive.

14. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” with all faults and without warranties of any kind. We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, quiet enjoyment, and warranties arising from course of dealing or usage.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, compatible with every device or iOS version, preserve all data, block or unlock any app at a particular time, provide accurate Bible Chat answers, quote Scripture without error, or produce spiritual, behavioral, or financial results.

No statement by us creates a warranty unless expressly stated in these Terms. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory statutory guarantees or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bible Seal and the Operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, business, opportunity, goodwill, data, or anticipated savings, arising from or related to the Service, even if advised that such loss was possible.

This includes loss connected with reliance on generated content; an app being blocked, unblocked, or accessible unexpectedly; missed notifications; device or operating-system behavior; loss of local data; third-party provider conduct; unauthorized device access; or failure to achieve a habit, memorization, screen-time, or spiritual goal.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims arising from or related to the Service will not exceed EUR 50.

These exclusions and limits apply regardless of the legal theory and even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose. They do not exclude or limit liability where doing so is prohibited, including liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence where it cannot be limited, or death or personal injury caused by negligence, and they do not reduce non-waivable consumer rights.

Indemnity for misuse

To the fullest extent permitted by law, if you use the Service for commercial purposes or your unlawful or unauthorized use causes a third-party claim, you will indemnify the Operator against the resulting reasonable losses, liabilities, and legal costs. This obligation does not apply to a consumer to the extent prohibited by applicable law.

16. Governing law and disputes

Informal resolution

Before filing a claim, please email support@biblesealapp.com with a description of the dispute and the remedy requested. Both sides agree to try in good faith to resolve it for at least 30 days, unless urgent relief or a mandatory limitation period requires earlier action.

Latvian law and courts

These Terms and any non-contractual obligations arising from them are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia, excluding conflict-of-law rules. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the courts located in Riga, Latvia have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from or related to the Service or these Terms. However, if you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections provided by the law of your habitual residence, and you may bring a claim in another court where mandatory consumer-jurisdiction law gives you that right.

Individual proceedings

Where permitted by law, and without limiting non-waivable consumer or representative-action rights, you and the Operator agree to bring claims only on an individual basis and not as a plaintiff or member in a class, collective, consolidated, or representative action. Where legally permitted, each side waives trial by jury. If this paragraph is unenforceable for a particular claim, it will not affect the remainder of this section.

17. General terms

Entire agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Apple Standard EULA, and specific purchase or feature terms form the entire agreement about the Service and replace prior discussions on the same subject.

Assignment. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them, together with the Service, to a company formed to operate Bible Seal or in connection with a reorganization, financing, merger, sale, or transfer of the business, provided your mandatory rights remain protected.

Severability. If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, it will be enforced to the greatest lawful extent and the remainder will continue in effect.

No waiver. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. Section headings are for convenience. “Including” means “including without limitation.”

Force majeure. We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events reasonably outside our control, such as outages, provider failures, cyberattacks, government action, disasters, labor disputes, or changes to Apple services, subject to applicable law.

Export and sanctions. You may not use or export the Service in violation of applicable export-control or sanctions laws, and you represent that you are not prohibited from receiving it.

Electronic communications. You agree that notices may be provided electronically through the app, website, App Store, or an address you provide, and that electronic notices satisfy writing requirements where permitted.
